Salvation Army Dinner

I want to thank everyone who has donated to the Salvation Army. We held our Candlelight Dinner last night at the Holiday Inn in Manhattan and it was wonderful. We had an excellent speaker who shared with us his experiences through his years in the Army. His message was simple and clear. We never know what small gesture we do to help another person might carry them through life and how far it could take them. One person believing in you can make such a difference in someones life who is down on their luck. He told stories of Bobby Knight's involvement with the Army, a Jazz musician and a owner of a large car dealership in Missouri. How the Salvation Army changed their lives personally, and not just by being involved but actually making a difference in their youth!

The Salvation Army is about so much more then I ever knew prior to getting involved with them. They help so many people in our community and around the world. Whether they help with food, toys for children at Christmas, assistance with paying the bills, daily meals, a home for homeless veteran's or a winter coast for the children. They do their part now we must all do our part.

Please remember and I know it is said alot, but giving is not always about the gifts under the tree. Believing and giving of yourself is and will always be the best gift of all!
